These are not good pictures - in fact, frames from a video I took. But in the second you can see clearly the silver spots distinguishing the nominate form from f. eris. In my experience in the Val d'Aran, where I photographed all these Niobe Fritillaries, some locations have eris and some the nominate form - I did not find both in any one location, though I saw quite a lot of the species.
