I found this species commonly everywhere I went in India. It is
mimicked by form dissimilis of the common
mime, Chilasa
clytia.
The species is unpalatable,
so it was a surprise to find the wings of one that had obviously been
taken by a bird!
Blue tigers are very
gregarious
butterflies. Here is a dangling, shady branch of a tree covered in
dozens of blue tigers, as well as a few common crows (Euploea core)
As the afternoon drew on
they gathered to roost higher in the trees:
