Chapman's Blue
Agrodiaetus thersites
Chapman's blue is extremely similar to the common blue. From the upperside the best things to look for in the male are the slightly more violet colour to the wings and the darker, rather furry appearance of the androconial patch. The female is very variable.Uppersid pictures. The underside is more distinctive : the cell lacks a spot in the middle (having just the terminal cell spot). Common blues nearly always have this extra spot in the middle, though it is occasionally absent. Underside picture (male).
