This
butterfly was flying around quite commonly in Tirupur but never seemed
to settle - or at least, not on the rough ground where I mostly looked
for butterflies. One day it did spend some time high in a tree,
sometimes nectaring, sometimes briefly resting. I was able to get some
rather poor record shots against the sky:
It is a large swallowtail
with a heavy, floppy flight but it still nectars on the wing from
flowers in the trees.
